Local: There are about three dozen LETSchemes in London in various
stages of development - click relevant borough in home page - each
scheme has its own ethos, local character, and joining procedure
- some have restricted geographical access, but there is no reason
why you should not join more than one eg, where you live, where
you work, and London-wide for access to more specialised services.
London-Wide: As far as we are aware LETSlink London was the first regional
networking service to have been established in the UK, but is now
one of many (we will add links to these as soon as we have checked
them out). If you wish to trade (using the new currency "links")
in the London-wide Lets scheme, which is still in the design and
development stage under the auspices of Letslink London, please
send £10 if you are an individual (or £25 if you are an organisation)
to Letslink London, 12 Southcote Road, London N19 5BJ with your
address, phone number and e-mail address and tell us what goods
and services you would like to offer in the scheme, and if you have
any urgent requests.
Other areas: LETSlink UK is a coordinating and advisory service founded
by Liz Shephard in April 1991: they hold details of all known LETS groups
in the UK - contacts are available via www.letslinkuk.org - and publish
a £10 starter-pack. Membership @ £25 per annum includes a Development
Pack of Advice Bulletins. Send £1.50 in stamps for basic information to
Letslink UK c/o 12 Southcote Road, London N19 5BJ.
